About us:    Alberni Valley Old Time Fiddlers (AVOTF) Branch #19

The Alberni Valley, Salmon Capitol of the World and gateway to the West Coast of Canada, is located 193 km north of Victoria, BC. Port Alberni, population 18,000, is nestled within the majestic Vancouver Island Mountain range and is known for it's moderate climate and breathtaking scenery. The Valley is rich with history, sport, art and music.

The newly formed Alberni Valley Old Time Fiddlers, Branch #19, meet for their regular practice each Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Abbyfield, 3839 8th. Avenue in Port Alberni, BC. Our fast growing club has fiddlers at levels from beginning to more advanced players. Members also include a wide array of backup instrumentalist who play piano, guitar, banjo, bodhran drum, harmonica, mandolin and washtub.

We regularly entertain residents at Seniors homes within the Alberni Valley. Also, we have shared our joy for old time fiddle music at various local events including performances at the Alberni District Fall Fair and McLean Mill.

Our goal is to keep alive the traditions of Old Time Fiddle Music. We encourage those, who want to learn to play old time fiddle music, and those, who wish to support us in the growth of old time fiddle music, to join the Alberni Valley Fiddlers
